HOW TO WEAR GREEN EYESHADOW

HOW TO WEAR GREEN EYESHADOW

Green is a very powerful color, yet it represents freshness, lush and growth. This year instead of saving green eyeshadow for spring,  you’re going to see a lot of green eyeshadow this winter. If you haven’t checked out my previous blog post How To Wear Dark Floral Dresses go check it out. A lot of you guys loved the makeup that I was wearing on that post, so I decided to re-create the makeup look for you.

The best part is you’ll be wearing this green eyeshadow trend well into 2019 and it’s going to go well with all of your black outfits, or you can mix it with your colorful outfits.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to choosing the shade of green eyeshadow you want to wear. Find the perfect green eyeshadow you can see yourself wearing. What I usually do is go to Sephora or MAC and try on different shades of green eyeshadow until I find the one that looks good on me.

EYES

I started with my eye makeup; just in case there is any fallout, that way I can wipe it off.

  1. I started by priming my eye with NARS SMUDGE PROOF EYESHADOW BASE, using my fingers I applied the primer from my eyelids all the way to my brow bone.
  2. I love THE NUBIAN 2  pallet by Juvia’s. I used the MORROCCO eyeshadow as my transition color. I apply it all over my crease and moving it near my brow bone.  I then emphasized the socket of crease even more by using JEZEBEL from the same pallet and brought it down onto the outer corner of the eyelid and blended it out.
  3. Taking BOBBI BROWN-IVY eyeshadow with a pencil brush and sweeping it all over your crease and outer corner of the eyelids and bringing it down to the lower lash line. Then taking this same blending brush and blending it out.
  4. I repeated this step for the next few colors. MAD MAKEUP-TEA TREE and  BOBBI BROWN-NAVY.
  5. I applied the shimmery green eyeshadow by MAD MAKEUP-PACIFIC  to the main part of the eyelids.
  6. Using SEPHORA-COLOURFUL CRAYON SHIMMER (gold) around the tear ducts, followed by TOO FACED-GLITTER POP EYELINER. I love how the gold pops!!
  7. Adding a dramatic eyeliner with wings will draw attention to the green eyeshadow.
  8. To finish the eyes off, apply mascara and false eyelashes.

Face

I prep my face for foundation by using BECCA-ever-matte poreless priming perfector since my face is a greaseball 😆. Please let me know what other products you use to control the shine on your face, if you have  oily skin like me.

  1. For foundation I use BECCA-Skin love espresso.
  2. I actually used eyeshadow to contour my face, I use a dark-brownish black eyeshadow. I can’t seem to find a contouring kit that has a darker shade to contour my face. This works for me, so I’ll continue using it.
  3. For blush, I’m actually using lipstick. It’s the same lipstick I’m currently wearing, it’s FENTY BEAUTY Mattemoiselle Griselda.
  4. Highlighter – I applied FENTY BEAUTY-Trophy wife.

Beautiful. I was just recently watching devil wears prada and Emily wears green eye shadow. Just love it so much. I like that this color looks so great on many skin tones. That sweater too is inspiring. The whole look looks so classy and happy.

What a gorgeous shade on you!! I have to admit, green has never been a shade that I gravitate towards, but I did recently get a palette with a stunning green shimmery shade that I have now been inspired to use! Thanks!
